Final Reports (Task Reports, Executive Summary, Stakeholder Comments)  have been published in the reports section of the website.
With the publication of these final reports, approved by the European Commission, the Product Group Study is over now.
Next step in the policy process is an impact assessment, to be performed by the European Commission. Period for stakeholder comments is over now. All comments received are now under evaluation for incorporation in the report. Final reports are due for publication end of May.

The draft task 7 report (Policy Analysis) and the summary table of all Stakeholder Comments received in response to the draft task 1-5 reports published in February last year and the 2nd Stakeholder Meeting were published in the reports session. A separate, individual registration is required for this event. Please, reply to Mrs. Peterke with the following data: Last name, First name, Company’s/organisation’s name, Birth date (dd/mm/aaaa), Complete ID number. Registration closes on March 2. Be reminded that you have to present an official and valid proof  of identity to the guard at BERLAYMONT building , and a printed agenda of the meeting.

The minutes of the 2nd Stakeholder Meeting have been published in the stakeholder section. As we summarised the voice recordings of the meeting we invite all participants to check, whether they have been cited correctly. Inform us of any changes you deem necessary by May 16, 2011. Thereafter the minutes are considered approved.
The contract for this Product Group study has been extended, just as announced at the stakeholder meeting, until May 2012. As there is some time buffer foreseen at the end of the study for internal administrative issues, the final Stakeholder Meeting to present the study results will tentatively take place in January 2012.
 

March 8, 2011

The revised task 1-3 reports (Definition, Economic & Market Analysis, User Requirements), first drafts of task 4 and 5 reports (Assessment of Base-Case, Technical Analysis BAT and BNAT) , and an updated Executive Summary were published in the reports section. Reports will be presented and discussed at the 2nd Stakeholder Meeting on Monday, March 28, 2011, in Brussels.
As task 1-3 were already subject to stakeholder comments, please restrict any additional comments to new facts presented in this task report. Stakeholders are invited to comment on the first version of the Task 4 and 5 reports: In particular we invite stakeholders to discuss with us data acquisition for additional base cases (which is scheduled for April / May / June 2011), the transferability of base case findings to larger market segments, and the actual cost and environmental impacts on the modular level. Regarding task 5 we invite stakeholders to provide evidence regarding the savings potential for the various improvement options, cost implications, barriers for introduction, and applicability for certain market segments of machine tools and beyond ("related machinery"). Additional technical options can be reported as well. Send comments in writing to schischke@ecomachinetools.eu by May 2, 2011.

Stakeholder comments in response to the Draft Task 1-3 reports and the 1st Stakeholder Meeting have been submitted by the following institutions: ACIMALL, ACIMAC, VDMA (Hauptgeschäftsführung, Fachverbände Holzbearbeitungsmaschinen, Druck- und Papiertechnik, Nahrungsmittelmaschinen und Verpackungsmaschinen, Bau- und Baustoffmaschinen), VDW, EWA, ECOS, CECIMO, JMTBA. Further input to come after the deadline has been announced by Umweltbundesamt, VDMA (Holzbearbeitungsmaschinen) and VDW.
Thanks to all stakeholders for their cooperation. We will take care of the comments and data provided when updating the reports.

The presentations of the meeting are available on the project website now. The minutes will follow by mid August.
Be reminded, that the first period for stakeholder comments on the draft task 1-3 reports ends by August 13, 2010. If you are not able to compile your input in time, at least drop us a message by August 13, that you intend to provide such an input and let us know, when to expect this to happen.
Furthermore, we just launched a Call for Information for individual companies of any of the three target groups: manufacturers of machine tools and related machinery, suppliers of components for these and users of the machinery. This is your chance to get directly involved in the study. Please, reply by September 17, 2010. The questionnaires can be downloaded at: http://www.ecomachinetools.eu/typo/reports.html . Associations are invited to inform their member companies about this Call for Information.
